Life Right Now - Hello, 2026!
So 2 years has passed since my last personal post. A lot has happened since. Here are some highlights of those 2 years which has shaped my life into what it is right now.
How Mama Bird Started
Everywhere you looked, there were beautifully packaged international products- powdered shampoos, artisanal soaps, refillable deodorants. The branding was clever. The storytelling was polished. The price tags? Exorbitant.
Learning to Let Go
Now I was slowly dreading news because I wasn’t entirely sure I was ready for it- or if was God’s will or just my materialistic side getting the best of me.
What Are We Made For?
Moving from Singapore to Jakarta was not that simple. We left a place I was so familiar with and work that I thrived in- despite some challenges. Now coming into our fifth year in Indonesia- we’ve moved house and schools 3 times (counting their homeschool which we started during the pandemic).
Discovering the Nagarey Warehouse
What to expect when you visit the Nagarey Warehouse, you ask? They have 2 levels, on the ground floor you will find a lot of accessories- export pieces.
Farewell to Our First Home
It took only 10 days and 7 viewings. There were 2 offers and the first ever viewer made an offer beyond what we expected.
Kitchen Story - Our Home Rental Makeover
During our first 2 years in Indonesia, we decided to reside in a cluster which was an hour’s drive away from Jakarta.
What My Son has Taught Me During This Pandemic
They say the worst of times bring out the best in us. This has never been truer than with my son Max. And perhaps he doesn’t even know it.
Life Right Now - Mommy Cha
I still couldn’t sleep thinking about the move and thinking about how life would be for us a month from now.
Life right now - Mommy Niq
Life is a fleeting gift that can change in a heartbeat. A pandemic induced realization that rocked me to my core and reframed my mindset.
